After the Purchase

To ensure your helmet serves you well in the stands and on the shelf, follow this guide for setup, fit, and long-term care.

Installing the Padding

Dialing in the Fit (Padding & Resizing)

Every head is unique, which is why we include a custom padding kit with your helmet.

  • The Base Layer: Start by placing the crown pad at the very top.
  • Custom Sizing: If the helmet feels loose, layer the additional pads on the sides or forehead.

Caring for the Craft

Because your helmet is made from strength-rated, color-infused filament and finished with our signature torching technique, it is incredibly low-maintenance.

  • Cleaning: A simple microfiber cloth and a little bit of warm, soapy water will remove fingerprints or stadium dust.
  • Avoid Chemicals: Never use harsh solvents, acetone, or alcohol-based cleaners, as these can dull the sheen of the material.
  • Temperature Warning: Like all high-end 3D prints, avoid leaving your helmet in a hot car (over 120°F) for extended periods to prevent warping.

Displaying Your Build

When you aren’t wearing it, your helmet belongs on display.

  • The Shelf: Most of our helmets are weighted for stability, making them perfect for bookshelves or gaming desks.
  • The Stand: For the best look, we recommend a simple "pedestal" style helmet stand to keep the neck line elevated. Something like this: Helmet Display Stand or our own stand that we use for our photo shoots.
  • The Wall:If wall-mounting, ensure you use a hook that supports the interior structure rather than putting pressure on the magnetic seams. Something like this: Helmet Wall Mount
  • A Case: To prevent dust you might want to invest in a display case to show off your helmet. The Forge recommends something like this: Acrylic Helmet Display Case
