About the Forge

My name is Scott Wagner.  I'm a Teacher by trade who has a passion for technology.  I love any chance to be creative and dabble in Graphic Design, 3D Printing, and wood working.  I'm a dog lover and have 5 dogs of my own including three Redbone Coonhounds, a Black and Tan Coonhound, and a Great Dane mix.  Why Redbone Forge?  The Redbone comes from my love of hounds and the Redbone is one of my favorite breeds.  Why Forge? It could be because 3D printers heat filament to create new things?  It could be a slow but steady path towards new things?  I wanted a place to share my creations.  Whether it be made with wood, 3D filament, vinyl or all of the above.

Digital Forge

I am a Mac user and bounce back and forth between my Macbook Pro and iPad for creation.  I do most of my mockups in Photoshop to help prototype things before bringing them to life.

3D Print Forge

The workhorses of my 3D print forge are seven Bambu Labs printers. Each with a 4-color AMS units.  They run almost 24/7 when in the middle of a project and are my favorite printers to use, hands down.

The Wood Shop

The center of my woodshop is a vintage 1950s Craftsman Table Saw.  I build a cabinet to store it with dust collection and folding outfeed table.  Space in the shop is limited so most everything is on wheels for flexibility.  The walls feature french cleats for the same reason for the ultimate in flexibility and storage.  Outside of my table saw, Milwaukee and Makita are my brands of choice.

  • Truman

Truman was our first Redbone Coonhound and is the dog featured in the logo.  He is the oldest of the pack at age 8.

  • Trudy

Trudy is also a Redbone Coonhound.  We fostered her when she was pregnant and abandoned and helped her deliver and adopt 16 puppies!  We had to keep her.

  • Morgan

Morgan is also a Redbone and was yet another foster fail.  He is extremely hyper and was adopted and returned 4 different times before we rescued him from almost being shot.  While he can definitely be a handful he can also be very sweet and lovable.

  • Charlotte (Charlie)

Charlie is a Black and Tan Coonhound.  She was adopted from Florida and my wife, mother, and daughter drove across the country in one day to pick her up and bring her home.

  • George

George was another foster fail.  He was originally thought to be a bloodhound mix but turns out he is just a Great Dane, lab, shephard mix with even a little Chihuahua thrown in.  He was abandoned with a broken leg most likely from being hit by a car.  He almost lost the leg but learned to make due and make a full recovery.
